With effect 1st October 2011 amendments to the WA Workers Compensation Legislation came into effect.
Three changes are relevant to the day to day running of business:
Q Is an injured worker allowed to choose their own doctor ?
A Yes legislation allows the worker to make the choice of doctor to manage their injury. However, an employer retains the right to have a consulting doctor review the worker.
Q Does an injured worker have to attend a doctor's appointment ?
A Yes it is the employee's responsibility to be at an appointment as directed by their doctor or the Insurers.
